Everyone’s talking about Silicon Valley… but, in this film, we are more interested in what Germany is like. What is the scene? And what is behind it? Is everything just hype? Questions and questions that we wanted to find answers and brainstorm from different angles.
SMiG is the first documentary to examine the German startup scene so intensively and in detail. It allows both connoisseurs of the scene and the laity to get an idea of the founding ecosystems and the ongoing digital revolution.
The film shows the history of the German startup scene. From different angles, the differences and similarities are exposed experimentally. Diverse and partly contrary opinions are juxtaposed with founders and well-known personalities from politics, economy and show-business.
We will show the documentary with the filmmaker Norbert Apostel , who is also available for questions together with representatives from RKW and Wirtschaftsförderung Frankfurt and many other special guests.
[The entry is free or at its discretion: The filmmaker asks for voluntary contributions]
