Today we present you, gramm.genau. The story of gramm.genau starts with the first idea for a store where you can buy loose products which were into Christine and Franzi’s heads – more than two years ago – only they did not know each other at the time. Both were firmly convinced that someone from the Frankfurt’s sustainability network would soon open a shop for garbage-free shopping. The unpacked movement in Germany developed fast and opened in more and more cities.Multiple shops opened with only loose products on offer.

Nothing had happened in Frankfurt yet, and Christine decided to pack the matter herself. With fresh ideas and lots of energy, she had returned from a long journey. Surprised that in her absence nobody had opened an unpacked shop in Frankfurt, she called via an e-mail to a meeting of the Frankfurt packaging-free supporters. Many interested came, among them Tamas and at the second meeting also Franzi. The idea had sparked and further meetings followed. Proposals were exchanged, discussions were held, interested people came and went. In the summer of 2016 it was clear: there is a core team and together we are creating this really now!

They met the owner of the fruit and vegetable shop “Main Gemüse” and together, they opened the first mini packaging-free shop in Frankfurt which is located in Berger Straße 26.

Now, to reach even more people in Frankfurt, they want to start a waste-free delivery service which brings you food and hygiene products directly to your door stop by e-cargo-bike! To test this innovative idea full of uncertainties, they are looking for test clients to receive the first zero waste and emission-free delivery ever!
